| How to open StarOffice Calc. |
You can use StarOffice Calc to create a spreadsheet.
A spreadsheet is a way of showing information in
rows and columns. The multiplication tables are
good examples of information shown in rows and columns.
There are many reasons for creating a spreadsheet,
most often they are related to business and finances.
Other reasons for creating a spreadsheet might include
tracking inventory, books, research, and so on.

Let's open StarOffice Calc.

To open
StarOffice Calc, double-click .
Then click . |
|
Your spreadsheet
is now open.
Each rectangular block is a "cell". You can simply
click your mouse in any cell and enter information
into it. Cells that go across the screen make up
"rows". Cells that go down the screen make up "columns".

Name and save your file. If
you have trouble, refer back to PART 1 "Saving Files".
