How to add styles to your text.

You can change the look of your text. You can make them bigger, change the color, center them and do various other things.

Here's how...

First, highlight the text you want to change.

Next, find the area of your screen that looks like this:

Font Tool Bar

If you click in the down arrow in the box being pointed to by the yellow arrow, you can change the font, or type of writing the text is in. There are many to choose from, so play around and see which one you like best.

The orange arrow points to the place where you can change the size of the font. Move your mouse up and click on the small black arrow next to the numbers.

Do you see the numbers drop down?

Let's move our mouse down and click one of the numbers. This will change the size of our text. The higher the number, the bigger our text will be.

Text Size
The red arrow points to the letter B. If you click on this button, it will make the text Bold, or darker.
The pink arrow points to the letter i. If you click on this button, it will make the text Italic, or slanted like this.
The green arrow points to the letter U. If you click on this button, it will underline the text, like this.

Now everything looks great!

Once again, there are many other options you can use. If you want to learn more about how to use them, use the help file in StarOffice. To use the help file,
click "Help" on the menu bar and select "StarOffice Help".

Don't forget to save Save!

Once you have finished writing your story, you can print it by clicking Print.
