EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT

Community Partnership Program

Purpose of Program

The Community Partnership Program was designed as a way for Sun and its employees to invest in the communities in which they live and work. By combining employees' time and energy with financial support from the Sun Microsystems Foundation, the program creates one-year partnerships to serve and improve our communities.

Sun Community Partnerships are initiated by employee committees at Sun sites and are designed to encourage community involvement at Sun sites worldwide that are not served by the Education Grants or Employment Training Grants.

The Sun Microsystems Foundation offers financial resources to mobilize volunteerism, but requires a long-term commitment before making any resource allocation. The foundation excludes one-time efforts from receiving funding through this program, and also does not make grants toindividuals, or for paid advertising, fund-raising events, religious or political purposes, or for arts and cultural activities. No portion of the grant may be used for the benefit of Sun employees involved in the project, nor for the immediate business interests of Sun Microsystems, Inc.

To view the impact of the Sun Partnership Grants Program, see what Sun employees have contributed to the West Dallas Community Centers.
