Bringing the Power of Network Computing to K-12 Schools
Open Gateways Program

Welcome to the Sun Microsystems Open Gateways Program home page. Through grants of Sun products and teacher professional development, the Sun Microsystems Foundation has established educational partnerships with primary and secondary (K-12) schools to bring the power of network computing to teachers and students. Utilizing Sun technologies, students and teachers have expanded access to curricula and reference materials; teachers regularly share curriculum ideas and lesson plans electronically; and, school districts centrally manage Wide Area Networks cost effectively and with ease. Through close collaboration with our partner schools, Sun is helping teachers prepare students for life and learning in a digital economy.

We invite you to learn more about the program and to take advantage of the various resources available to help facilitate integration of StarOffice and the Internet into daily classroom instruction.
