World's Most Ethical Companies
Sun has been named by Ethisphere magazine as one of the "World's Most Ethical Companies," recognizing our commitment to ethical leadership and corporate social responsibility. Sun not only made the list, but was top in our industry. In addition we were also one of only 20 companies out of the 5000 reviewed to be given the added designation "Ethics Inside Certified" for being able to provide evidence of our efforts to promote ethical behavior by employees. We also received one of only five "A" grades for our Standards of Business Conduct. Ethisphere commented that Sun's Standards of Business Conduct "clearly outshines other codes."

Sun scored a perfect 100% on the Human Rights Campaign's 2005, 2006, and 2007 Corporate Equality Index, which examines and evaluates companies' policies with respect to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender employees. This recognition highlights our commitment to celebrating the diversity of all our employees.
Vodafone Supplier of the Year for Corporate Responsibility Engagement
In May 2007, Vodafone named Sun its Supplier of the Year for Corporate Responsibility Engagement. Vodafone recognized Sun for "...its commitment to Vodafone's Code of Ethical Purchasing, as Sun enhances its CR Programme. The award follows the launch of Sun Microsystems' first CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility ) report, and its support of Vodafone's CR activities."
