We provide opportunities for small companies to compete for Sun's business, including companies that are:

  • Minority owned, women owned, and service-disabled veteran owned
  • Qualified as disadvantaged
  • Located in historically underutilized business areas
This helps spread the benefits of our procurement more widely and contributes to social and economic development.

We report our level of business activity with small businesses to the U.S. federal government annually.

Our procurement with minority-owned, women-owned, and other small businesses is tracked and reviewed quarterly by Sun's Global Sourcing Services. It's also audited annually by the U.S. Defense Contract Management Agency.

Our Supplier Diversity Office helps diverse suppliers compete for Sun's business in a number of ways, including:

  • Identifying potential diverse suppliers through the U.S. Small Business Administration's Central Contract Registry database
  • Attending trade fairs for diverse suppliers
  • Providing information on our Web site
  • Participating in professional organizations chartered to advance the cause of small business
  • Communicating regularly with Sun employees to raise awareness of our supplier diversity policy
