As we ready ourselves for the next phase in Sun's evolution as a technology and innovation leader, we do so knowing that no matter what form our company takes, our long-term business success depends on a healthy planet and thriving communities. With that in mind, we proudly introduce our 2009 Corporate Social Responsibility report.

This year's report is unlike any other we've released. It contains more data than we've been able to provide in past reports: more eco responsibility data, including increased data on water usage, waste, and product takeback; more supply chain greenhouse gas emissions data and other supplier information; and more data on corporate governance, including news of the dramatic jump in our S&P Index score (from 61.5% to 99.6%) and in our Industry Index score (from 94.8% to 100%).

At the same time, we make no short- or long-term commitments as we strive to strike the right balance between openness, sharing, and transparency and the realities of our current business situation. And as Sun's future comes into sharper focus, we'll continue to rely on the courage and integrity of our employees and partners to keep Sun's sustainability journey moving forward – one step at a time.
