Peter Ryan
London
Peter visited London, where he spent time with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, London Business School, Oxford Internet Institute, among other customers, media and analysts.

While in London, Peter spoke with Paul James, CIO for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, about the increasing importance of innovative and open technologies in the public sector. He also met with academic leaders and spent time with executive MBA students while at the London Business School. In addition, he co-hosted a breakfast event in London with the Oxford Internet Institute - attended by senior leaders from the business and academic community - ranging from Web 2.0 businesses and start ups, to academics and policy advisors, to enterprises in global banking, retail, etc.

Peter's presentation to this group focused on how the context of global business and information technology is changing dramatically. In the midst of a challenging global economy, there continues to be a massive increase in new people, applications, businesses and services around the world coming online daily. Companies are challenged with managing increasing data with reduced resources and greater regulation, so many are looking for alternatives. Disruptive change to the industry has a tendency to open opportunities to innovative new technologies and business models.
