01. What is Sun Microsystem's vision statement?
A. Everyone and everything participating on the network. Sun's tagline of more than 20 years is "The Network is the Computer."

02. What is Sun Microsystem's mission/cause?
A. Since 1982, Sun has maintained that the network is the computer. Sun's vision is to see everyone and everything participating on the network. Sun's mission is to create technologies and fuel communities that enable sharing and participation. Sun's cause is to eliminate the digital divide. Eliminating the digital divide allows everyone to take part in opportunities and contribute to solutions regardless of their geographic location or economic situation.

03. What is Sun's strategy?
A. Sun invests in research and development to create products and services that provide competitive differentiation for its customers and for developers adopting its technology. Sun integrates software, storage, services and systems, and Sun believes that volume drives value. Sun shares technology in order to grow its communities, increase participation and build new markets.

04. What is Sun Microsystems' ticker symbol and which exchange does it trade on?
A. Ticker symbol: JAVA; Exchange: NASDAQ. Please note as a result of the reverse stock split, effective November 12, 2007 through December 10, 2007 (twenty trading days following the effective date of the reverse stock split) a "D" will be added to the end of our regular ticker symbol to indicate that a reverse split has recently taken place. As a result, during that time, our trading symbol will be "JAVAD." On December 11, 2007, our ticker symbol will go back to "JAVA".

05. Does Sun Microsystems pay a cash dividend?
A. At this time, Sun Microsystems does not pay cash dividends.

06. Does Sun have a Dividend Reinvestment Program (DRIP)?
A. No, Sun Microsystems does not have a Dividend Reinvestment Program.

A. JAVA's initial public offering was on March 4, 1986 at the price of $16.00; with the historical splits and the reverse split on November 12, 2007, the adjusted price is $1.00.

Sun's 2009 annual stockholders' meeting will be held on Thursday, December 17th, 2009 beginning at 10AM (PST) at Sun's Santa Clara Campus Auditorium, located at: 4030 George Sellon Circle, Santa Clara, CA 95054. If the proposed merger with Oracle Corporation is consummated prior to December 17, 2009, Sun will no longer have public stockholders and, therefore, the 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be cancelled.

25. Will there be a stock buyback?
A. The decision for a stock buyback is made at the discretion of Sun's Board of Directors. On May 16, 2007, Sun announced a $3 billion share repurchase authorization of the company's outstanding shares by the Board of Directors.
