What is an RSS feed?

Increasingly, web sites that publish new content on a regular basis provide a list of news headline links to their latest content so you can see when new content has been added. In addition to displaying these headlines on their own web sites, many publishers make them available for syndication using a dialect of XML called RSS or "Really Simple Syndication." That way, these syndicated headlines can be included in other web sites and newsreaders, however, they won't include the full text of articles. The content within these RSS feeds contain headlines and may also contain a brief description. If you click on the news headline in the RSS feed, you will be taken to the original website to read the full article.

How do I subscribe to a feed?

The first thing you need is a news reader. This is a software that checks the news feeds and lets you read the new articles that have been updated in the RSS feed you subscribe to. Once you have selected a news reader, all you have to do is decide on what RSS news feeds you want to subscribe to. Look for the RSS feed feed icon on our website. Right click on the icon and select "Copy Link Location" and then paste that URL into your RSS news reader. You can find more information about each news reader by clicking on the Common Reader Configuration Guide. Different news readers work on different operating systems so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.

What is twitter and how do I subscribe to SunIRNews on www.twitter.com?
