Cheryl Cook serves as Senior Vice President of Sales for Global Accounts and Industries at Sun Microsystems, Inc. She is responsible for the global organization's operational direction which includes developing growth and coverage strategies, as well as setting financial goals and objectives worldwide. The organization is chartered with the sale of systems, software, storage, and services into Sun's global key accounts, direct and with Sun partners. In addition, the organization has teams dedicated to key focus areas such as SunFed, Government/Education/Healthcare, Financial Services, OEM, and Communications/Media to include account management, business development, training, partner relationships, and more. Most recently, Cheryl was Senior Vice President of Sales for North America at Sun. Under Cheryl's leadership, the North America Sales Region delivered a consistent, integrated and responsive customer experience in commercial companies including the Fortune 500, with a strong industry focus in Communications, Financial Services, Government and Education. With over 20 + years' experience in the computer industry, Cheryl's passion and energy continues to drive resultsÂÂoriented sales organizations that deliver competitive and innovative business solutions to solve the most complex and demanding network computing issues facing clients today. Cheryl is a recognized female leader, having received the Tribute to Women (TWIN) award from the YWCA in 2008 and being recognized as one of "The Most Powerful Women in the Channel" by CMP/ChannelWeb. Previous responsibilities, at Sun Microsystems include the Vice President of U.S. Sales Geographic Enterprise Market, Vice President of Sales for the Southern Area, and Director positions in both end user customer roles as well as Channel Sales of Strategic and Global Alliances. Prior to Sun Microsystems, Cheryl held various engineering and sales positions at NCR. Cheryl graduated from the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
