Chris Melissinos is Sun Microsystems' chief evangelist and chief gaming officer. A 15-year veteran of Sun Microsystems, Melissinos has contributed to and led numerous technology developments, including Java APIs focused on media and entertainment markets, mobile technologies, and he was one of the originators of the Project Darkstar initiative. His expertise in technology adoption, social platforms, developer communities, and impact of technology as a change agent has made him a sought-after speaker around the world. Offering insight into transforming education, social changes in youth culture, next-generation technology development and emerging development communities, Melissinos' speaking resume includes JavaOne, SISCTI, Game Developers Conference, NUTN, E3, PAX, 3GSM, Stanford's AlwaysOn, and Harvard's Cyberposium.

As the founder of JavaGaming.org, the largest and oldest Web resource focused specifically on the interactive and entertainment markets for Java technologies, Melissinos has been championing the use and adoption of Java technologies for over a decade. A technologist to the core, he started programming at the age of 9 and still hacks hardware and code to this day.

Melissinos is the host of the weekly SHIFT Radio show, was the creator and host of the highly popular "LevelUp" Web show, and has held advisory seats for conferences such as Game Developers Conference Mobile and NCTA. He currently sits on the advisory board of NBC's GameX conference as well as JavaOne.
