Ingrid Van Den Hoogen
Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing
Sun Microsystems Inc.

As Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Ingrid Van Den Hoogen drives Sun's brand, global communications and marketing communications efforts. Ingrid is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports to Jonathan Schwartz, Sun's CEO and president. In this role, Ingrid has led Sun through a unique brand transformation that positions Sun as a leader in the Participation Age for the next decade.

Prior to leading Sun's corporate marketing efforts, Ingrid led software strategic marketing where she incubated Project Orion (the Java Enterprise System) and led the effort to energize the Java brand which resulted in a new consumer touchpoint for Sun, java.com, and a new Java developer community site, java.net. Ingrid first joined Sun in 1987 to develop demos for the visitor center and moved on to product marketing for graphics and eventually marketed Sun's first enterprise servers. Over the years, Ingrid has developed and executed key marketing initiatives including introducing Jini technology to the market. She was also a core part of the team in Sun's CTO organization that created JXTA, a peer-to-peer open source project.

Prior to joining Sun, Ingrid held software development positions at Megatek, United Technologies, and GTE Government Systems. She holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from San Jose State University.
