Stephen Hahn is a Distinguished Engineer in the Solaris Product Group at Sun Microsystems. He is technical lead for the image packaging system (IPS), the software delivery mechanism for the OpenSolaris distribution. Past work includes publishing Solaris as an open source operating system, development of the Solaris Service Management Facility, and development of resource management at the operating system level. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Brown University, before joining Sun in 1997.
