StarOffice 9 Beta Now Available

July 16, 2008—Today Sun announces the StarOffice 9 beta software, which includes more than 1,500 new features and improvements. And for the first time, StarOffice is available on the Mac platform. These improvements will make StarOffice 9 an even stronger alternative to Microsoft Office, at a fraction of the cost.

StarOffice is a full-featured office productivity suite that includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, database, and the ability for users to create their own custom extensions and applications.

The StarOffice team at Sun listened closely to feedback from current StarOffice users and also listened to users of other office suites when designing StarOffice 9.
