Sun worked with Oracle recently to establish a world record on the two-tier SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark running the SAP ERP application Release 6.0.(1) in database performance. The technology driving that performance was a Sun M9000 configuration comprised of SPARC Enterprise M9000 server equipped with quad-core SPARC64 VII 2.52 GHz 64 processors, 256 cores, 512 threads, and Sun StorageTek 6140 arrays.

The Oracle Database running on the Solaris 10 Operating System, achieved 39,100 SAP SD Benchmark users.
