Sun Ray Software 4 10/08 includes new multimedia playback capabilities, security enhancements, an in-session desktop resizing feature, and more. See how it all works in this Sun Webinar.
New Features for Secure Multimedia
The new release broadens users' access to different types of multimedia playbacks. Sun Ray 2 thin clients can now handle MPEG-4 (H.264) and Windows Media Video 9 (VC-1) streams using Windows Media Player running on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
Sun Ray Software 4 10/08 improves thin client security, too. It includes Juniper's IPsec-based ScreenOS VPN solution as well as remote hotdesk authentication, which authenticates new users in a separate session before connecting them to a live user session.
Additional new features include in-session desktop resizing, which allows users to move between different-sized displays and adjust their desktop sizes without having to log out and log back in, plus support for 30-inch monitors on the Sun Ray 2FS virtual display clients.
