Empowering Global Education Communities
EduConnection.org and Open Source University Meetup are designed to connect and empower the global education community, which includes Sun's education sector partners, customers and students.
"Sun knows that communities drive innovation, especially in the education industry. To this end, we created EduConnection.org and OSUM to encourage conversations and information sharing among all of our stakeholders, from students to educators," said Joe Hartley, VP of Global Education, Government and Healthcare at Sun Microsystems.
Key Informatin About The Networks
EduConnection.org is a forum for schools to exchange information and best practices in order to meet the challenges of purchasing and implementing new technologies cost effectively. This network also gives Sun the opportunity to directly engage and support its education communities.
Sun's OSUM offers a network for students to learn and collaborate on open source developer tools and platforms, including MySQL, NetBeans, Java, GlassFish, OpenSPARC and OpenSolaris. Students can also use OSUM to connect through on-campus meetups and events coordinated by Sun Campus Ambassadors.
