ANNOUNCEMENT OF STÉPHANE BOISVERT BEING APPOINTED AS PRESIDENT OF SUN MICROSYSTEMS OF CANADA, INC.
Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s Vice President, International Americas,
Robert MacRitchie, is pleased to announce the appointment of
Stéphane Boisvert as president of Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc.
Mr. Boisvert will oversee Sun's development, growth and investment
opportunities in Canada where Sun is the leading supplier of
RISC/UNIX® servers. Mr. Boisvert will drive the company's strategy
for Sun's portfolio of products in Canada including the new x86
architecture Sun LX50 entry-level server
which offers customers a choice of operating system - Linux or Sun's
popular Solaris Operating Environment.
Mr. Boisvert brings to the company a distinguished 17-year career in
sales, marketing, and operations management. His most recent role
was Worldwide Executive for sales and marketing for a server line of
business at IBM.
"Stéphane brings a wealth of experience and energy to Sun," noted
Mr. MacRitchie. "His depth of knowledge of the Canadian
marketplace, especially the financial services market, and his
accomplishments managing operations, building demand and driving
strategy for several product lines in the public and private sectors
will be highly valued at Sun."

Mr. Boisvert was a recipient of the prestigious "Top 40 Under 40"
2000 Award. The Montreal native is a graduate of McGill University.
