Sun's iWork Program Wins Global Innovators Award
Sun is known for innovative technology developments, but the company
takes
innovation seriously across its entire business.
Sun has been recognized with a "Global Innovators Award" from
CoreNet,
an
association for corporate real estate, for its iWork program. Designed
to
support a dynamic work style, the iWork program offers choice and
flexibility and ultimately allows employees to work anywhere, anytime
on
any
device. The program is saving the company millions of dollars annually
and
is making location less of an issue for Sun's knowledge workers.
CoreNet awarded Sun's iWork program in the Corporate Real Estate and
Workplace Management category. CoreNet, a leading
global professional organization that includes corporate real estate
executives, economic development agencies and commercial real estate
service
providers, recognizes innovative practices and excellence in the
strategic
management of corporate real estate each year.
"We are proud that CoreNet chose to honor iWork," said Bill Agnello,
senior
vice president of Sun's Workplace Resources. "It's particularly
noteworthy
that Sun is recognized for how we've integrated our own technology and
tools
such as SunRay and Web Services to build a total solution. After many
years
of development, we believe that iWork has evolved into a truly
innovative
program that supports the dynamic way our employees now work. As Sun
continues to grow as a global competitor, iWork will enable our
employees to
effectively work anywhere, anytime on any device."
About Sun's iWork Program
Sun's vision for the iWork program is to build effective, integrated
work
environments that provide choice in how, when and where Sun's employees
work, at a cost Sun can afford. Of Sun's 35,000 employees, 13,000 are
part
of the iWork program and Sun is targeting $100 million in annual
savings
due
to reduced real estate costs and improved productivity thanks to the
program.
