The UltraSPARC T2 is the industry's fastest, most energy-efficient, general purpose processor, packing the most cores and threads of any processor in its class. Each of its 64 threads can operate as a separate domain or "computer within a computer," with broad applicability for computing, networking, storage, virtualization and other specialized functions. The UltraSPARC T2 processor integrates all the key functions of a networked system on a single chip: computing, networking, security, and input/output (I/O), plus tight integration with the Solaris operating system.
