Gary Helmling Gary Helmling is a Lead Software Engineer at Meetup, where he builds scalable and easy to use tools for finding and organizing local groups. Prior to joining Meetup, he helped organize the world's local birding groups at the National Audubon Society, and worked with startups developing online 3D mapping and e-commerce solutions for telecom and financial industry customers.
As Managing Partner of Reliant Security, Richard Newman is responsible for the company's day-to-day operations, as well as its strategic direction. A technologist at heart, Newman has more than sixteen years of experience in applications and infrastructure. A lead party in five successful start-ups, along with extensive experience consulting to numerous retailers, he is adept at working with both small and large organizations. His technical expertise extends to LANs, WANS, voice and data systems, wireless networks, enterprise storage and SANs, enterprise server platforms, legacy environments and information security. In addition to network and systems design, he has worked extensively creating software applications and brings a disciplined approach to Reliants product development efforts. Newman graduated in 1991 from Columbia University in New York City. Geir Magnusson, Jr. Geir Magnusson has a diverse background as both a technical executive and an internationally reknown leader in open source software. Magnusson has held executive positions at Joost, Gluecode/IBM, Apdeptra, Intel and FitLinxx. He is a member of the board of advisors for WSO2, an open source SOA middleware vendor. In addition to Magnusson's commercial software experience, he is a director of the Apache Software Foundation, currently represents the ASF on the executive committee of the Java Community Process and helped found major open source projects, including Apache Geronimo and Apache Harmony, and has been recognized for his work in the Java ecosystem through a Google-O'Reilly Open Source Award. |
