At the 2009 International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), Sun will be showcasing its latest HPC technologies and services that are simplifying HPC deployments and reinventing the HPC cluster. Highlights include new Open Network Systems products in support of the Sun Constellation System, such as the Sun Datacenter InfiniBand QDR Switch 648 for optimal cluster interconnect performance, new Sun HPC Software Linux Edition 2.0 for faster and simpler cluster deployment, and Sun Grid Engine 6.2 Update 3 for ease of management.
The Sun exhibit (#410) will also have a wide range of demonstrations of other innovative HPC products and solutions, including: future servers powered by the latest AMD Opteron six-core "Istanbul" processors, and "Project M2," a future addition to its Sun Datacenter Switch family that will be up to six times more space-efficient than competitive chassis switch solutions while delivering up to twice the systems bandwidth than competitive DDR chassis switch solutions. Sun is also demonstrating its storage leadership for HPC, with a preview of a next-generation, high-end Sun Unified Storage System and new enhancements to the Lustre file system.
