Jonathan Schwartz keynote: "Infinite Access" -
Security issues are on the rise and cost billions of dollars per year to address. However, most of the talk has been about defending oneself from the inevitable and the annoying. ItÂ’s time to change the nature of our response. Instead of adding extra layers and patches, the industry needs to start focusing on ideas that can prevent attacks by designing in what a program, system or user is capable of and thus limiting the harm that can occur. We all need to increase our focus on identity, authentication, permission and access control based on roles. This approach has worked to keep viruses from Java, it needs to be extended to the enterprise and to users.
