Kathleen Holmgren is Senior Vice President of the Network Storage Solutions Group, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sun Network Storage. The mission of the Network Storage Solutions Group is to deliver leading, enterprise-quality storage products that integrate the best of Sun's IP and 3rd party products and provide customers with highly reliable, massively scalable, turnkey storage solutions.

Kathleen formed the original Storage Product Group at Sun in 1995. Under her leadership, Sun's high-end storage business grew rapidly and became a major strategic business thrust for Sun. Kathleen led several acquisitions and launched Sun's entry into storage management software development and the multi-host support storage market.

Prior to her role in storage, Kathleen held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Logistics, successfully driving a leveraged logistics model that met revenue goals while achieving a high degree of customer satisfaction and cross-company teamwork. During her accomplished 16 year history at Sun, Kathleen has held numerous other key positions in areas such as Plant Production Management, Materials Procurement, Supply Planning, Process Engineering and Manufacturing Plant Design.

Kathleen was recognized as one of Sun's top leaders in 1992 with Sun Microsystems' President's Excellence Award. In 1996 she received the YWCA's TWIN (Tribute to Women & Industry Award) and was also awarded Cal Poly's School of Engineering Outstanding Alumnus in 1990. Kathleen graduated with highest honors with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University.
