Sun Fire X4275
ZDNet's Craig Simms evaluated Sun's newest 2RU Nehalem-based Sun Fire X4275 server, focusing his evaluation on the design, architecture and performance aspects of the unit he tested. The reviewer noted that the task manager is "likely to create a bit of envy." Craig concluded his review saying, "Sun Microsystems' Sun Fire X4275 is an excellent all-rounder that can be custom-specced to suit most small-to-medium-business needs... its flexibility is commendable."
OpenSolaris 2009.06: Getting Better All The Time
ZDNet's Jason Perlow took a first look at the latest release of OpenSolaris and concluded, "OpenSolaris 2006.09 is indeed a significant release for the project and is an excellent enterprise workstation and server OS, and I'm looking forward to tracking future progress of the developers working on it."

Sun xVM VirtualBox 3.0: Virtual Developer's Delight
ZDNet's Jason Perlow reviewed the new VirtualBox 3.0 release, stating it "represents a culmination of hundreds of bug fixes and significant performance enhancements, including the ability for the product to permit guest OSes to use up to 32 virtual CPUs each." In the accompanying slide show, ZDNet noted that "VirtualBox is ideally suited for desktop virtualization applications but also has some nice features for prototyping and developing enterprise-quality applications and environments."
Sun Storage 7410 Unified Storage System
IT Pro's Dave Mitchell posted a great review of the Sun Storage 7410, giving it an Editor's Choice award with 5 of 6 stars. Dave described the unit noting, "Sun delivers a unique network storage solution with more standard features than the rest and no hidden charges." Dave concluded, "It offers a massive expansion potential and good performance across a range of protocols."
