JavaOne Conference Announces 2008 Show Devices

Technology from Livescribe, Sony Ericsson and Sentilla Available at the JavaOne Conference

SANTA CLARA, CA April 30, 2008 Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA), today announced the show devices for the upcoming 2008 JavaOne conference, May 6-9 at Moscone Center in San Francisco- the Pulse Smartpen from Livescribe, the Sony Ericsson K850i and the Sentilla Perk Kit. The show devices are available for purchase by anyone with a JavaOne conference badge, on a first-come, first-served basis. For each individual show device, purchases are limited to one per customer. JavaOne Conference attendees can purchase these devices Tuesday -Thursday, May 6-8, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Moscone Center, South Upper Lobby Hang Space. Pulse Smartpen from Livescribe
The Pulse "smartpen" from Livescribe is a computer within a pen that captures handwriting and simultaneously records and synchronizes audio to the writing. Users can simply tap on their notes to replay what was recorded from the exact moment they were writing, so they never miss a word. The Pulse is available in two models. A JavaOne conference special edition of the 1-gigabyte Pulse smartpen is available only at the Conference for $139. The Pulse smartpen features an ARM 9 processor, a high-speed infrared camera with a Dot Positioning System, a rechargeable lithium battery, a high-contrast display, dual embedded microphones, and a 3-D recording headset.
