(NASDAQ: JAVA) today announced that Rahul N. Merchant has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Merchant is an accomplished financial services industry leader with a proven track record for managing large technology operations and organizations across the globe.
Most recently Mr. Merchant served as executive vice president, chief information officer and member of the executive committee at Fannie Mae. Prior to this, Mr. Merchant served as the chief technology officer at Merrill Lynch. He has managed some of the world's largest technology budgets and has a deep first-hand knowledge of Sun's products and innovation roadmap. His previous experience also includes senior leadership roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Sanwa Financial Products. Mr. Merchant currently serves on the Boards of Collebara, Inc. and Netuitive and on the Board of Advisors of the American India Foundation.
