Registration Is Open For the 2009 JavaOne Conference - June 2-5 in San Francisco

Over 1,300 Submissions Under Review for Conference Sessions

SANTA CLARA, CA February 26, 2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc. Hosted by Chris Melissinos, chief gaming officer at Sun Microsystems, the JavaOne conference provides attendees with a virtually unparalleled opportunity to learn from the creators and foremost experts in Java technology. The 2009 Conference will encompass hundreds of in-depth technical sessions, Hands-on Labs and Birds-of-a-Feather sessions (BOFs). Sun received an outstanding 1,300+ submissions from this year's Call for Papers, which are currently under review by 35 external reviewers who participate in the selection process along with a panel of Sun employees.

Duke's Choice Awards

Sun is also announcing that the call for submissions is now open for the seventh annual Duke's Choice Awards, which celebrate extreme innovation in the world of Java technology. Duke's Choice Awards selection is based on the innovation and creativity of Java technology-based applications and services, including web applications and tools; mobile applications and services; and games and card-based applications. Winners will receive a statuette of 'Duke,' the Java technology mascot, and be recognized for their achievement at the JavaOne conference. Java University Program

The Java University program is returning as part of the JavaOne conference. This year attendees have a choice of attending half- or full-day sessions being held on May 31 and June 1. Only Conference Plus Pass and Java University Program Pass holders can participate in these sessions; all courses are created and delivered by Sun-certified instructors.
