Bill Vass

Bill Vass is the president and chief operating officer of Sun Microsystems Federal, Inc. and the chief technology officer of Sun's Global Accounts and Industry organization. Vass focuses on providing the U.S. government and elite global accounts with open, secure and efficient solutions to solve unique IT challenges for large scale organizations.

Bill brings more than 29 years of U.S. government and private sector IT leadership experience to Sun.


Harry J. Foxwell, PhD.

Harry Foxwell is a Senior System Engineer for Sun Microsystems' Government division in the Washington DC area, where he is responsible for solutions consulting and customer education on Solaris, Linux, and Grid technologies. He has worked for Sun Microsystems since 1995.

Harry recently published a book titled, Pro OpenSolaris.


Simon Phipps

Simon Phipps is the Chief Open Source Officer at Sun Microsystems, co-ordinating Sun's extensive participation in free and open source software and open standards communities, promoting consistency and best practice and actively participating in the global conversation they express.

Mark Perkins

With over 25 years of information technology experience, Mark Perkins is SunFed's Technical Solutions Sales Manager and Chief Technology Officer, responsible for setting the technology selling direction for the U.S. Federal division of Sun Microsystems.


Jim Laurnet

Jim Laurent is a senior systems engineer and Operating Systems Ambassador with 24 years of computer industry experience. His blog covers topics that include Solaris, OpenSolaris, Virtualization and the Sun Federal business. He joned Sun in 1995 and works with Department of Defense and other Federal Government customers.


Dave Douglas

Dave is responsible for Sun's cloud computing business, with a focus on creating reliable, scalable and sustainable computing and storage servers, as well as the company's developer tools and services.
