Sun employees are our company's most important asset. We are committed to providing compensation and benefits that reflect how valuable they are to our company's success.
We also encourage and empower our employees to grow and develop both professionally and personally.
We provide training and development resources for all employees — regardless of where they are in the world and in the organization — to grow their careers.
Employee Benefits
Promoting Balance Sun recognizes that our employees around the world are constantly balancing work and personal priorities. We have several programs that aim to assist our employees in achieving this balance.
Our Open Work program enables Sun employees to work effectively anywhere, any time. Employees have the option to work from home or at one of Sun's "flexible" office locations around the world. Link to Open Work.
Additional programs to promote and support employee life/work balance include:
- Credit Union
- Child Care
- Discounts on a variety of services, recreation and entertainment
Health and Wellness Sun recognizes that enabling and supporting employee wellness is an important part of overall employee health and satisfaction. Our formal wellness program is designed to empower Sun employees to make informed, healthy lifestyle choices.
Our FIT@SUN program offers fitness centers at various Sun campuses, with personal training, group exercise, physical therapy services; nutrition seminars; and regularly published newsletters focused on a range of wellness topics so Sun employees can be savvy health consumers.
Our SunBalance program aims to provide Sun employees and their families with practical advice and seminars on personal and business issues, child care, adoption, elder care, education, parenting issues and others.

Domestic Partner Benefits Sun has been recognized repeatedly by the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index for our policies with respect to our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.
We offer the same comprehensive benefits to Sun employees' same sex domestic partners as those offered to Sun employees' spouses. We also offer benefits to opposite-sex domestic partners.
Employee Grant Matching The Sun Foundation matches qualified employee charitable contributions dollar for dollar up to $1,000 per employee per year, for all employees worldwide.
In 1995, Sun became one of the first companies in our sector to extend our Employee Grant Matching program globally, making it available to all Sun employees.
To date, the program has mobilized more than $17.3 million in charitable contributions.
Non-salary Compensation Sun administers a variety of compensation programs, beyond salary, designed to reward employees as well as to help them prepare financially for their futures. This additional compensation includes:
- 401(k) program with matching funds provided by Sun
- Bonus program
- Employee stock purchase plan

Learning and Development
Sun employees are required to enroll in several training courses that are core elements of our commitment to the highest standards of business ethics.
These courses include training in Sun's Standards of Business Conduct, Antibribery and Corruption Compliance, Intellectual Property Protection, Information Technology Security and others.
|
Sun's learning and development program also offers hundreds of courses — including instructor-led and online self-paced courses — on a range of topics.
Employees can use these courses to deepen their technical expertise, improve their communication skills, or gain a better understanding of Sun's business.
Our goal is to provide Sun employees with access to useful tools that enable their careers to flourish.
