The Brixton LU0 Application Programming Interface (API) is a software product which supports the development of customized Solaris (TM) based application programs that interact with IBM host-based applications. This API provides software developers with access to the entire set of SNA control messages and allows free-formatting of application data. The Brixton LU0 products provide the same functionality as Sun Microsystems' SunLink LU0 product. The Brixton APIs are 100% compatible with those provided by SunLink. A program that uses the SunLink APIs can be linked to the Brixton product without the need for recompilation. This is especially critical when using third party software whose source code is not available. Developers can rapidly develop LU0-compliant client applications for accessing the mainframe, thereby enabling customers with large investments in mainframe applications to participate in distributed processing environments that are available on LANs and IP networks.
