The 20% of Solaris knowledge that solves 80% of your needs

Introduction

This document contains the most relevant 20% of technical information you will need to know when working with Solaris and Sun platforms. It should answer 80% of your Solaris questions.

This is not intended to replace detailed books on the Solaris Operating Environment (OE) or comprehensive FAQs (books and links are listed in the appendix). Rather, this document is intended to serve as a "how to" collection for those who are new to Solaris system administration or those that are not administering Solaris systems on a daily basis. The focus of this document is on graphical workstations used for technical applications and should also be helpful to those that need to set up Sun systems for demos or benchmarks.
