Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System as Storage Target for Symantec Enterprise Vault

Introduction

This paper describes how to quickly configure and deploy the Sun Storage 7110 Unified Storage System as a vault store target for Symantec Enterprise Vault and how to set up a file system archive (FSA). Because all the products in the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System family provide the same web-based GUI, the information in this paper applies to the entire family.

For this guide, the Sun Storage 7110 Unified Storage System, the entry-level system of the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System product family, is used with two Sun Fire X4140 servers. One of these servers (isv-4140x) is running Symantec Enterprise Vault version 8.0 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 32-bit, and the other server (isv-4140z) is running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-bit.
