As is our usual practice on the BigAdmin site, we have not attempted to create new content but, rather, we point you to some potentially useful information. General System Administration Best Practices

The The Systems Administration Site Assessment Checklist (pdf) contains a structured list of controls and mechanisms that you might expect to find in a mature IT organization.

Add servers, not admins - Improve staffing ratios gives some insight into staffing ratios of administrators to servers and provides some hints on improving the ratios.

Shell Commands and Scripts
