Enhancements in Solaris Container Manager 3.6.1

Introduction

This document highlights the prominent new features and enhancements to Solaris Container Manager. This information is intended for IT managers, system administrators, and architects in organizations using or planning to use this solution. The article assumes that readers are familiar with the installation, setup, and use of the software.

Solaris Container Manager is an integral part of Sun Management Center software, and it is shipped with Sun Management Center as an add-on product. Solaris Container Manager works in a browser-based console to manage software containers, and it helps to maximize resource utilization and increase data center productivity.

The Solaris 10 11/06 OS provides additional zone management features, such as zone rename, zone move, zone clone, zone migration, and zone privilege management. This Solaris release enhances the Solaris Container Manager 3.6.1 software and provides support for these new features.
