Installing and Configuring Greenplum Database on the Solaris 10 OS for x86 Platforms

Introduction

The Greenplum database is an open source, parallel, clustered implementation of PostgreSQL. It is suited for read-mostly applications, such as data warehousing. The database contributes to the PostgreSQL community, but there is significant intellectual property in the product that is not open sourced.

This article describes how to install and configure the Greenplum database on the Solaris 10 11/06 Operating System for x86 Platforms.
