Sun Storage J4400 Array as Disk Storage for Symantec Veritas NetBackup 6.5 Software

Introduction

This guide is an introduction to configuring the Sun Storage J4400 array as a disk cache for the Symantec Veritas NetBackup 6.5 application. This paper provides an example of configuring the ZFS file system on the Solaris 10 05/08 Operating System and configuring the NetBackup 6.5 application to utilize the Sun Storage J4400 array as disk cache. Using this guide, backup throughput rates of over 1 Tbyte per hour should be achievable.
