I was unable to configure the boot drive Solaris 10 11/06. My PowerEdge 850 has the Dell CERC SATA 1.5/6 raid controller.

Removed the Adaptec PCI PERC 2 card and attached the SATA discs to the embedded SATA controller. This allowed the Solaris 10 installer to see and successfully configure both ATA drives. The default cylinder layout did not work. I had to force swap to start in cylinder 4 as cylinder 1 is not usable.

In order to install Solaris 10 01/06, I needed to add ",acpi-cd-dma-enabled=0" to the boot arguments. This was not necessary for Solaris 10 06/06.

To install Solaris 10 01/06, I needed to add ",acpi-cd-dma-enabled=0" to the boot parameters. Also, Solaris 10 06/06 appears to install fine in Desktop session (i.e., it is not necessary to select Console session).
