Reported to Work (Solaris 10, Solaris Developer Express Only) Note: All OpenSolaris entries are 'Reported to Work'
Runs on Solaris Versions:
Solaris 10 08/07 to Solaris 10 05/08 (including Solaris Express, Developer Edition 01/08) OpenSolaris 2008.05
CPU Type:
Intel Xeon
Num CPUs:
2
Num Cores (per CPU):
2
BIOS: Firmware Maker and Version
1.3
General Notes:
System seems to have a BIOS problem (tested BIOS 1.2S and 1.3), installation hangs just after Grub.
As a workaround I'm setting the kernel variable
"dobiosdev" to 0; that skips some of the startup code and
avoids the reset_disk() call. To set the variable:
- boot the kernel with options "-kdv" during first installation.
- at the kmdb prompt "dobiosdev/W 0"
followed by "::cont"
Add a line "set dobiosdev = 0" to /etc/system after you installed Solaris.
