Release Notes Solaris[TM] Operating System Hardware Certification Test Suite (HCTS) Version 4.0 ----------------------------------------------------- The Hardware Certification Test Suite (HCTS) enables independent hardware vendors (IHVs), system manufacturers, system integrators, and end users to certify their systems and components for the Solaris[TM] Operating System (OS). HCTS 4.0 replaces the previous version, HCTS 3.1. Be sure to use the most up-to-date version of HCTS. Check the HCTS web site at http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/ frequently to see whether a newer version is available. New HCTS 4.0 Features --------------------- The HCTS 4.0 release includes the following new features: o Certification of 10-Gigabit network card. o Certification of iSCSI HBA. o Certification of Audio device. o Certification of CD/DVD reader device. o Certification of CD/DVD writer device. o Certification of Video device. o Certification of USB storage device. o Certification of USB CD/DVD reader device. o Certification of USB CD/DVD writer device. o Certification of USB keyboard device. o USB audio test. o Virtual disks supported in system certification. o Storage test that is able to run on ZFS. o Device selection mode for component certification and test. o Customization mode feature. Enables you to customize your own test plan. o Manual Network Configuration option in Network Certification. Provides enhanced flexibility to run tests in your network environment by enabling you to control the network IP address configuration instead of using the IP addresses specified by HCTS. o Diagnosis option to assist failure analysis. Captures test-case-level exception information and system level I/O, memory, lock and network state information to aid failure analysis.
