HCL for the Solaris OS Level Definitions

In the Detail view of a system or component on the HCL, the row that is labeled Level can have one of the following values:

Certified
Certified system configurations or components have passed testing with the Hardware Certification Test Suite (HCTS), and the HCTS test results have passed audit by Sun. Certified replaces Sun Certified and Test Suite Certified. After November 2006, Sun Certified and Test Suite Certified are no longer used on the HCL.
Reported to Work
Reported to Work system configurations or components have been registered by an end user or developer as "reported to operate with the Solaris Operating System." This hardware has not necessarily received any formal testing. Sun appreciates the contributions of the user community in providing this data.

Tabs on the HCL pages enable you to select only Certified hardware, only Reported to Work hardware, or only Solaris Ready hardware. See the HCL Overview for more information.

Solaris Ready
Vendors and developers are also encouraged to consider registering their products for the Solaris Ready program. Information about registration and requirements to attain Solaris Ready certification is at http://www.sun.com/solarisready.

Sun Services provides Sun Software Support services for Certified and Reported to Work hardware for customers who have a Sun service plan. If you do not have a service plan with Sun, please visit the Solaris Service Plans page to buy a Solaris Subscription or visit the BigAdmin Solaris x86 Collection and Solaris Forums for resolution of issues related to the Solaris OS on x86 platforms.
