The Solaris CIFS service can be used in an Active Directory (AD) domain or
in a workgroup. When used in a domain, you can configure the identity
mapping service to establish an equivalence relationship between a Solaris
user or group and a Windows user or group in which both the Solaris and
Windows identities are deemed to have equivalent rights on the system.
Solaris CIFS also includes a client that can be used to mount CIFS shares
as a regular user and as a system administrator.
Note: The Solaris CIFS functionality is available
beginning with at least Solaris Express Community Edition Build 79,
Solaris Express Developer Edition 1/08, and OpenSolaris 2008.05.
