재해 복구를 위해 Solaris OS에서 Flash 아카이브 사용, 3장

제가 쓴 기사 재해 복구를 위해 Solaris 운영 체제에서 Flash 아카이브 사용, 2장에서는 기본 서버와 복구 서버의 버전이 모두 지원되는 최소 Solaris OS 버전과 동일하거나 그 이상이어야 한다고 했습니다. 이 사실은 점점 더 중요해지고 있습니다. 다양한 새 Sun 시스템을 선택할 수 있지만, 이전 버전의 시스템에는 더 이상 Sun 지원이 제공되지 않기 때문입니다.

예를 들어 기존 Sun Enterprise 서버가 재해로 인해 파손된 경우에는 교체되는 모델이 동일한 모델일 가능성이 적습니다. 수중에 훌륭한 아카이브 이미지가 있더라도 새 서버에서는 기존보다 높은 OS 개정판이 필요하므로 이 이미지는 쓸모없을 수 있습니다. 이는 두 시스템의 아키텍처가 모두 동일하더라도 적용됩니다.

이 문제를 해결하는 한가지 방법으로는 마스터 시스템에서 OS를 계속 업그레이드하는 것입니다. 하지만 서버 업그레이드 작업은 준비를 위해 시간이 소요될 뿐 아니라 작동 중지 시간도 오래 걸립니다. 그리고 OS 업그레이드를 수행하고 나면 많은 타사 패키지, 옵션 제품, 인하우스 보안 설정, 스크립트 및 구성을 다시 적용해야 할 수 있습니다. 이를 모두 수행하려면 많은 리소스가 필요합니다.

Solaris Live Upgrade 기능을 사용하면 OS를 온라인으로 업그레이드하여 시스템 작동 중지 시간을 절감할 수 있으며, "릴리스 간" 업그레이드도 지원합니다. 예를 들어 Solaris 8 OS에서는 한 개정판(Solaris 8 OS 02/02)에서 다른 개정판(Solaris 8 OS 02/04)으로의 라이브 업그레이드를 수행할 수 있습니다. Solaris 9 OS 등에서도 개정판 간 업그레이드를 수행할 수 있습니다. 그리고 나면 해당 OS를 사용하여 서로 다른 서버 플랫폼 간 재해 복구 작업을 지원할 수 있습니다.

하지만 Solaris Live Upgrade 기술은 서로 다른 소프트웨어 그룹에 대한 OS 업그레이드를 지원하지 않습니다. 예를 들어 마스터 시스템의 OS가 그룹 배포판으로 설치된 경우 업그레이드 후에도 OS는 여전히 그룹 배포판에 있습니다. 즉, 다른 새로운 플랫폼으로의 복구를 지원하지 않을 수 있다는 것입니다.

앞서 언급한 상황이라면 Solaris OS 설치 CD 또는 DVD를 사용하여 OS를 업그레이드하는 것이 유일한 옵션입니다. 이 옵션을 사용하여 재해 복구를 지원할 수 있도록 마스터 시스템에 있는 OS를 최신 "릴리스 간" OS로 업그레이드하고, 소프트웨어 그룹을 Entire Distribution plus OEM으로 한 번에 업그레이드할 수 있습니다.

Solaris 8 OS 사용을 예로 들면, Entire Distribution 소프트웨어 그룹이 있는 Solaris 8 OS 개정판 02/02를 설치한 원래 마스터 시스템이 Entire Distribution plus OEM 소프트웨어 그룹이 있는 Solaris 8 OS 개정판 02/04로 업그레이드됩니다. 사용된 단계는 다음과 같습니다.

두 번째 CD(Solaris 8 소프트웨어 2개 중 두 번째 CD)를 교환하고 설치를 계속 진행합니다.

설치를 마치고 나면 시스템에서 재해 복구 백업을 지원할 수 있게 됩니다.

참고: 호스트 이름 또는 IP 주소와 같이 기본 시스템 식별 정보는 변경할 수 없습니다. 변경하면 설치가 실패할 수 있습니다.
