The Sun Fire System Controller Logger (SUNWsclog) is a program that
simplifies administration of a remote loghost for system controllers on Sun
Fire 3800, 4800, 4810, 6800, E4900, and E6900 systems.
It maintains separate log files for each platform and domain that logs to it.
When new platforms or domains start logging to it, the Sun Fire(TM) System
Controller Logger will dynamically create new log files for them. It does
all this using only one facility in syslog.
The Sun Fire System Controller Logger comes as a Solaris package that can be installed on systems running Solaris[TM] 8 (SPARC(R) or x86) or Solaris 9 (SPARC or x86).
Benefits
* Only requires one facility in syslog.
* Greatly simplifies Sun Fire loghost setup and administration - especially
in data centers with many Sun Fire midrange systems.
* Requires no additional configuration on the loghost if more Sun Fire systems are added after the initial SUNWsclog install.
* Dynamically creates separate domain and platform log files for every SC it logs for.
