Techie Toolbox
---------------

The Techie Toolbox often features scripts and content submitted
by members of the BigAdmin community and may not be appropriate
for all organizations.

* PCP - Maps Ports to PIDs
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/jsp/descFile.jsp?url=descAll/pcp__maps_ports_to_&cid=e8776
PCP is a script that enables administrators to see what open TCP
ports are in use on a Solaris system. It maps ports to PIDs and
vice versa. It accepts wildcards and also shows at a glance all
open ports and their corresponding PIDs.

* Managed Rolling Snapshots (ZFS)
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/jsp/descFile.jsp?url=descAll/managed_rolling_sna&cid=e8776
ZFS snapshot (point in time copy) administration for rolling
snapshots (snapadm.pl). See comments for usage.

* op - Open Ports on a System
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/jsp/descFile.jsp?url=descAll/op__open_ports_on_a&cid=e8776
This small shell script shows all the open ports on a system
as well as some information about the port.

* runqueue.d
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/jsp/descFile.jsp?url=descAll/runqueue_d_collect_&cid=e8776
The minimal interval for which sar is able to collect statistics
is one second. If a system has many processes that take a couple
of milliseconds to run, sar will not know that they are in the
run queue. (Requires the checkperf script, available in the
BigAdmin article "Automating a System Performance Check Using
the checkperf Utility.")
