Here are some web site and communities that have OpenSolaris content for sys admins:

• The opensolaris.com site* has lots of helpful resources. For example, the home page has links to articles, blogs, podcasts, videos, and news. In addition to the home page, see these subsections:

  • The Learn* section, which provides info about features, links to Sun BluePrints technical papers, links to webcasts and other info related to learning about the OS
  • The Use* section, which provides links to webcasts and how-to info for installing, using, administering, and distributing the OpenSolaris software
  • The Share* section, which provides a forum where you can get your questions answered, in real time, by a world-wide community of technical leaders
  • The Get* section, which provides downloads for OpenSolaris and other software, plus info about Sun's OpenSolaris support

• The Solaris Information Center on BigAdmin provides pointers to documentation and technical articles about Solaris and OpenSolaris system administration. For example, How To: OpenSolaris Installation and Image Packaging System provides information about installing your OpenSolaris system.

• OpenSolaris.org* is the official community of OpenSolaris developers, and it provides technical content and resources for the ongoing development of OpenSolaris, such as code repositories, source code and packages, user groups, blogs, FAQs, news, and more. It also provides a dedicated discussion group for sys admins*, which is a good place to go if you want to influence the development of OpenSolaris. This site might be of interest if you want to contribute to the OS itself, or you want to experiment with the latest features under development.
