Sun is dedicated to its workforce above all else. We strive to ensure that our work environment
is fast-paced and fun. Here's a few short question/answer interviews.
1) Why did you join Sun San Diego? Were you looking
for a new job or were you content in your current job? If you weren't
looking, what made you decide to take the leap into Sun?
The main reason I joined Sun was because
of the company's reputation. Sun is well known in the high tech industry
for it's sustained, continuous growth; it's product & technology leadership
and strong, employee-focused culture. I was content with my previous
employment but with all these positive attributes, I could not pass
up the opportunity to become a member of its Management team.
2) What were you doing in your previous role and
what are you doing now?
I've been working as a UNIX SysAdmin
(mostly Sun platform) for the five previous years. I got burnt out and
I wanted to do something different, but still use my skills. I got it
by accepting a TSE job with CSO MC group.
3) What do you like most about your job and Sun San Diego in general?
Everything. Great company, great bennies, great people, co-workers
are cool, so is the manager, and I have an opportunity for career growth
within the company. I'm a native, so it was great I can work for Sun and stay in San Diego.
Before I made my move to Sun, I took a few months to find
a new company that I could enjoy working for. Sun stood out with a culture
that respects the value of it's greatest asset, its people. From hiring
to training to work environment and communication among teams. From
my first interview to today, I have found myself feeling like I have
something worth contributing -- I make a difference. That attitude has
been unusual for me in other work environments. That attitude is a factor
in Sun's success.
