Highly experienced individual contributor with proven ability to apply breadth and depth of business and technical sales knowledge to drive closure of sales opportunities within the Research in Motion (RIM) account as part of Global Accounts and Industries. Responsible for selling all Sun offerings within the Systems / Storage Line of Business. This role serves as the primary sales strategist, who understands customer business problems and enlists appropriate Sun resources and partners to deliver the optimum solution that leverages Sun products and related services. This role is an active member of Sun's customer facing sales team and works closely with RIM account team colleagues, practice sales specialists, pre-sales technical/systems engineering, and services delivery. Responsible for accurate, timely and consistent business forecasts for assigned territory. Education: Requires university degree in business and/or technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

Role / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sales activities required to link customer's business requirements to solutions, secure and grow Sun business for the Systems / Storage LOB, and drive the relevant programs aimed at developing Sun sales. Sales activities include prospect identification, proposal generation, professional presentations and closing the sale.
- Has a broad and deep understanding of the Communications, Media and Entertainment industry relative to key trends, operational functions, business drivers and strategies. Effectively uses sales tools and market campaigns to create and drive new opportunities. Superior effectiveness in engaging executive levels (CTO/CXO) on business issues and industry trends.
- Leads, or works as part of, an account team to identify, qualify and deliver solutions.
- Responsible for an account plan to drive goal attainment in assigned territory.
- Coordinates with the other members of the sales team (Sun employees and partners) to support account sales and business development strategies.
- Helps identify and engage the appropriate partner to meet customer requirements.
- Drives Sun strategy into assigned accounts.
- Follows all Sun methodologies and processes related to sales opportunity pursuit, including but not limited to the Siebel Opportunity Management, Enterprise Selling Process, and Deal Management Process (financial and legal approval process).
- Ensures that the Sun sales programs are known and executed in assigned territory, including personal follow-up and engagement in selected opportunities.
- Achieves or exceeds the quarterly and annual sales goals.
