Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship works across Sun Microsystems, collaborating with partners, and engaging employees to participate in creative and innovative programs across the world. Great efforts are made in overseeing the Sun Foundation, established in 1990 and supported by contributions from Sun Microsystems, Inc, as well as driving key programs in support of Sun's mission, Eliminating the Digital Divide, and promoting Sun's Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Every day, the network profoundly changes the lives of the people who touch it. Our mission is to deliver network access to underserved populations. We know that by doing so, we have the opportunity to amplify the opportunities of the individual, and increase the possibilities for all participants. We believe we can maximize our impact by leveraging our corporate resources and the talents that define us. We champion this cause for our customers, partners, and other stakeholders so that everyone can share in the opportunity revolution which results.

We've worked with programs to address the world's hardest problems, including DATA (Debt, Aids, Trade, Africa), the ONE Campaign, Make Poverty History, Oxfam, Architecture for Humanity, and others.
